Accommodation

There are two self-contained units, The Gite and The Apartment, sleeping two people each.
The Apartment is only available for rental in conjunction with the Gite, meaning a total of four friends or family could holiday together at La Foret, whilst still having private accommodation space.

To welcome you and ease you into your stay at La Foret, a home cooked meal can be prepared by Nikki and be waiting for you in the Gite.

Indoors

The Gite

The Gite is a short distance from the owners house, has its own private entrance and secluded deck area and is set in a peaceful private setting overlooking woodland.
It has a large double bedroom, lounge, dining area, kitchen and shower room.
The Gite remains available for rental on it’s own, and when this option is taken, the Apartment would be vacant, and the pool would remain exclusively for the Gite guests.

Bedroom and shower room

The Gite sleeps 2 people, with a large double bedroom, equipped with a double wardrobe, dressing table, bedside tables and hair-dryer.
The Gite has an area indoors of 82 square metres (almost 900 square feet).

The shower room is fitted with a walk in shower, toilet and basin/vanity unit.
Hot water is supplied from the large immersion tank solely for the use of the Gite.

Lounge, dining area and kitchen

The lounge has two settees, and a wood-burning stove.
The full length glass door gives access to the private deck at the rear of the Gite.
There is a flat screen television linked to a new UK satellite system, and a selection of games and books are also available.

The dining room area has a table that seats 4 people very comfortably, and there is also a large French antique wardrobe, containing all you need for cooking away from home.
The kitchen is open plan, and leads from the dining room area.
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge with ice compartment, and a microwave.
There is a gas hob, and an electric oven.

The Apartment

Completed in 2020, we are pleased to offer the new Apartment in addition to the lovely Gite. The Apartment has a king size bed and sleeps two people. It is finished to a high standard, and has a lovely contemporary feel, within the 200 year old stone barn. The deck gives a quiet area to eat and relax, with views over the paddock.

The Apartment sleeps 2 people, with a large double bedroom, equipped with a small wardrobe, dressing table, bedside tables and hair-dryer.
The Apartment has an area indoors of about 75 square metres (around 800 square feet).
The shower room is fitted with a walk in shower, toilet and basin/vanity unit.
Hot water is supplied from the large immersion tank solely for the use of the Apartment.

Lounge, dining area and kitchen

The lounge has two settees.
The full length glass door gives access to the private deck overlooking the paddock.

The dining room area has a table that seats 2 people very comfortably.
The kitchen is open plan, with fitted cupboards and has everything necessary for cooking and dining. The dining room area is adjacent.
The kitchen is equipped with a gas hob, an electric oven, fridge, toaster, and kettle.

Outdoors

Outside, the private deck area has table and chairs, sun-loungers and exterior lighting. There is also an external power socket, and an electric Plancha can be provided for outdoor dining.

The Pool

The secluded large heated swimming pool is 11 metres by 5 metres, and at the deep end is 2 metres deep.
The cover is electrically operated, and there are steps leading into it to allow easy access.
The pool surround is fully tiled, and an outdoor solar powered shower is fitted adjacent to the steps.
There are sun-loungers, hammocks and parasols provided, in addition to a table and chairs.

The Pool House Chalet

The pool house chalet is a tiled roofed summerhouse, with electricity and lighting.
There is a music system, and a fridge within, and some weights for those who wish to make use of them.
There is also a selection of outdoor games kept in here.

The Grounds

The whole complex is set in 7 acres, and backs onto a forest which can be explored. There are a selection of deer and squirrels that can be seen, and also many species of birds. Red-kites are a common site soaring overhead.
The paddocks are kept mown, and can even be used for golf practice.

List of Facilities

The gite has a Wi-Fi broadband connection and the flat screen television, which is linked to an English satellite system, receives most UK television and radio stations, and also some European channels.
A quantity of UK/French socket adaptors are available.
Towels are provided for use within the Gite bathroom, however we do not provide pool towels.
Bedding is provided, and sheets will be changed weekly.
Cutlery, crockery and a Plancha for outdoor cooking are supplied.

There is a separate laundry room shared with the owners.
